Fanned, maple-like leaves emerge bright green in spring, age to bronze-green and by summer mature to green with bright red streaks. In early spring, white bell-shaped flowers dance above the foliage. A lush and colorful groundcover or accent in borders. Deciduous perennial. Photo credit: Terra Nova

Prefers cool, moist but not wet soil which has been amended with plenty of organic matter. Follow a regular watering schedule during the first growing season to establish a deep, extensive root system. As a groundcover, space plants 2 ft. to 3 ft. apart, (closer for faster coverage). Control weeds with mulch until the plants cover the area.
