Polka Dot Prickly Pear

New pads appear in pairs, like the ears of a rabbit. Tiny white contrasting spines cover the green pads, resembling polka dots. Yellow flowers, easy care and unique architectural form make this a valuable specimen, patio container subject or security barrier. The fine spines are light to the touch, but use care, as they can become a skin irritant. For this reason, it is not recommended for areas accessible to pets. Evergreen.

Follow a regular watering schedule during the first growing season to establish a deep, extensive root system. Watering can be reduced after establishment. Feed with a general purpose fertilizer before new growth begins in spring.
