O'Neal Blueberry

Often considered to have the best flavor of the Southern highbush, large dark blue fruit matures very early from summer to early fall. Needs only 400 hours of chill. Evergreen foliage in mild winters or turns brilliant red before falling in cold climates.

Provide an acidic, well-drained soil. Water regularly during the growing season to maintain a deep, extensive root system. Before new growth begins, prune off twiggy growth, leaving only main stems to prevent overbearing; feed with an acidic fertilizer.
