Zamioculcus Zamifolia
At last! A houseplant that thrives on neglect. The ZZ plant needs very little care and is easy to grow. These plants perform well in nearly any type of lighting except total darkness. ZZ plants have dark green, shiny leaves that grow on thick, upright growing stems up to 24 inches long. They require very little water because the plant grows from a large tuber that stores water every time the plant is watered. The tuber releases the water as the plant needs it. For best results, let the soil dry completely between waterings. |

Sansevieria ‘Black Gold’
Sometimes referred to as Mother-in-Law’s Tongue or Snake Plant, this is another very low-maintenance houseplant that can tolerate low humidity, low light and infrequent watering. This plant actually doesn’t produce leaves. Instead, it has long, fleshy stalks that are blade-like and flat, with a slight wave. The blades of the Black Gold variety are mottled with dark green and have bright yellow margins. Since the plant can take almost any amount of light, it is often used to brighten a dark space and add a little drama. |

Dracaena ‘Jade Jewel’
'Jade Jewel' is a new Dracaena cultivar of medium compact form. It has a dark green edge with multicolored white to green stripes. Dracaenas prefer moderate light but no direct sunlight. An ideal place is an east, west or south facing window with a transparent curtain to filter out any direct rays. Dracaenas prefer rather high humidity so place a tray of pebbles under the plant to increase the humidity. High humidity will encourage strong growth. Misting once a week with soft water will also help. Water dracaenas less often than most tropical plants. The leaves of dracaenas will turn brown if given too much water. It is best to let the soil dry out at least half way before watering. |
