    Step out into your garden as you are preparing your Thanksgiving feasts. If you have herbs like sage, rosemary and thyme they use them to add bold, earthy, robust flavors to your Turkey and side dishes.

    Look around again. Do you have blooming perennials, evergreens, fall leaves and berries. Snip these, bring them in and decorate your table.

    Take some notes today of things you would like to see in your garden. Plan ahead for next year's Thanksgiving feast. Plant or expand your herb garden. Plant trees with fall colors like Japanese Maples, plants with berries like Pyracantha, Nandina and Cotoneaster and evergreens like Magnolias, Euonymous, and Cleyera. Plant perennials like Chrysanthemums, Asters, and Sedum.

    Next year when you step into your garden, enjoy the bounty that your garden can bring. Cook and decorate from the garden for Thanksgiving and be thankful for the beauty that surrounds you that you can share with your family.
