Groundcovers have continued to display a great deal of versatility over the last several years. The range of leaf coloration, texture, or growth habit have extended their popularity far beyond the manicured bed of English ivy amidst a lush green lawn. Groundcovers can spill over the edge of container gardens, pocketed into rocky crevices of a pond, or to replace grass in areas that are too shady or too dry.
Ground Preparation
The top 4 inches of the planting area should be tilled with Nature's Helper soil conditioner and mushroom compost. One three cubic foot bag will amend approximately twenty-one square feet, one inch deep. As with all plantings, groundcovers will benefit from mulching, regular waterings and fertilizations.
