Stack Stone is a semi-flat stone that is usually 8" diameter and
smaller and ranges from 1" to 8" in thickness.
The Basic types of stack stone we carry are:
1. Tennessee (TN) Stack Stone: The weathered surfaces are a brown/grey
and the inside faces are tan/pink/brown. Thin stack is generally hand sized
pieces 2 1/2 " and under. Thick stack ranges from 3" to 6"
thick.
2. Tennessee (TN) Quarried Stack: Is a chopped and broken flagstone.
Thin Quarried Stack is less than 4" thick. Regular Quarried Stack is
3" to 6" thick.
3. Strip Rubble: Is 2" to 8" thick and ranges
from 8" to 48" long. It averages 4" to 5" deep on a wall
and is available in Crab Orchard (brown/tan, pink/tan or grey), Sugar Hill (brown/tan), New York
(green/brown/blue) or Pennsylvania (blue/green).
4. Alabama: The weathered surface is brown/grey and the
inside face is pink, brown/ a light tan. It is similar to TN products but will
not match up exactly.
5. Pennsylvania (PA) Weathered Stack: Is larger pieces that are broken to
fit your wall. Colonial is green/grey while weathered has more grey brown in
it. Many people often break Pennsylvania (PA) fieldstone for use in Stackwalls. Some products are tumbled or have rounded - over edges.
Exclusive Blue is a grey/blue; Tumbled bluestone is a blue/grey. Tennessee (TN) tumbled
mill ends are brown/tan or pink/tan.
6. Panola, Pinestone, Cherokee, and Woodstone: Are the mica
based material and are thin stack (1"-3") and thick
(3"-6"). Cherokee is grey/blue with some rust to white. Woodstone is
brown with some gold/tan. Pinestone is cream with gold/tan. Panola is tan,
gold, white and rust colored.
