Pike Design Group is a division of Pike Nurseries and provides professionally designed landscape plans for the home or business owner. Plans are prepared on-site by a Pike Design Group designer. All Pike designers have landscape architecture degrees and experience in all phases of design and installation. The design plan fees are determined on a per hour, seasonal basis:

Rates may vary outside the metro-Atlanta area and on Saturdays. Design appointments are offered primarily Monday through Friday, beginning as early as 8:00 a.m. with our last appointment beginning at 4:00 p.m. The average full-yard plan takes 2-4 hours to complete for a 1/3 - 1/2 acre homesite.

Question: What do I actually receive for the fee?
Answer: Our designers will develop a landscape plan right at your home or business. The plan consists of an in-depth pencil sketch detailing plant selection, location, size and spacing, as well as a seasonal maintenance calendar.
Secondly, our architects can conceptualize the location of walls, decks, walkways and other landscape elements and incorporate these into your design. Grading and drainage issues may also be addressed.
Finally, as a Pike Design Group customer, you will receive a discount card for 10% off any purchases you make at Pike's for two full years. In many cases the discount results in you recovering the majority of the design fee with your plant purchases.

Having the plan allows you to obtain an "apples-to-apples" comparison of pricing from any number of landscape contractors. You also have the ability to hire a contractor for a portion and install the remainder yourself.
Do-it-yourself Approach - Implementing the design yourself can save you hundreds or even thousands of dollars in labor costs. What's more, your Pike Nurseries discount card gives you additional savings on trees and shrubs. And because the card is good for two years, you can do the installation at your own pace.
Question: What types of homes may need a design and when is the best time to have a plan done
Answer: Pike Design Group has helped solve problems, provided solutions and increased the resale value of thousands of homes in the Atlanta area. Existing homes can benefit from a plan by working with plant material that needs some "shaping up" or is improperly located and then enhancing it with new color or texture.
New homeowners benefit from a well-thought-out "game plan", allowing implementation to occur over a short or extended period. Even before the home is complete, a Pike Design Group plan can assist the builder in the proper plant selection and placement.
Creation of your custom landscape design can be done anytime during the year. In fact, we encourage customers to think about planning in what may be considered "off season periods". Having the plan in advance of actual installation allows you to get organized and budget both time and money.
Question: What if I don't want to do the work myself?
Answer: We can coordinate the installation through a Pike Nurseries authorized landscape contractor, who will provide a free estimate for the proposed design.
