Stone is an integral part of your pond's ecosystem. It protects the liner and provides tremendous surface area for beneficial bacteria to break down excess nutrients in the water and dissolved organic debris on the pond floor. Stone also provides an appealing aesthetic finish to any water feature!
To complete your 8 x 11 foot pond, Pike recommends the following stone:
- Stack two pallets of One Man Boulders, sized 8-18", along the wall of the pond.
- For accent stone, use one pallet of Two Man Boulders, sizes 18-24".
- Cover the liner in the bottom of the pond with one scoop of Tennessee River Pebbles.
- Cover small gaps between the larger river pebbles and reinforce coverage of the liner with 100 pounds of Pea Gravel.
