Pike Nurseries
Farm is expanding
their sales to Independent Garden Centers and Hardware Stores throughout
Georgia, North/South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Louisiana, Alabama, Florida
and Virginia. As the business continues
to grow, we can expand our range of shipping as well.
Summary and General Purpose of the Job
The New Business Development Manager will have an established
territory focusing on Independent Garden Center and Hardware Retailers,
Commercial Resorts, Buildings and Golf Courses/Country Clubs as well as large
Landscape Maintenance Decision makers. We
are looking for someone who is excited to prospect, find new customer
opportunities and grow existing customer relationships.
If you are a self-motivated, disciplined, consultative sales
hunter with a positive attitude looking for an opportunity to earn uncapped
commissions, this may be the ideal fit for you. A proven track record of
meeting and exceeding goals is required. Prospecting and qualifying new
business in this growing industry is a must. The ability to build rapport,
foster relationships and identify a customer's needs will be key elements to
success.
This remote position
reports to the Director of Sales and is supported by our Core Management team,
production, local growing facilities teams, and office administrators.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan,
prioritize, and manage sales activities to meet short-term and long-term
goals
- Develop,
maintain and grow a territory while managing the "administrative"
responsibilities of sales
- Direct
one-on-one consultative selling via phone, video calls, in-person events
or visits
- Be
able to multi-task on multiple sales goals
- Limited
travel to trade show events to grow existing and new business
- Develop
and manage a healthy pipeline of new prospects
- Maintain
and update CRM daily and manage weekly projections
- Work
in a team selling environment
- Gain
in-depth industry knowledge
Qualifications
- Must
have effective, responsive, multi-channel communication skills
- 4-year
degree or equivalent sales experience preferred
- Minimum
4+ years prior sales experience, B2B highly desired in the horticultural
industry
- Proficient
with CRM, forecasting tools, Excel and PowerPoint
- Proven
track record of success in exceeding quotas and overcoming objections
- Proven
ability to build and nurture client relationships
- Ability
to work independently as well as part of a selling team

Physical Environment & Working Conditions
- Requires extensive use of back, legs, knees, arms, feet and hands for lifting, stooping, squatting, bending, twisting, kneeling, pulling, pushing, reaching overhead, and walking.
- Unassisted lifting limits up to 50 lbs.
- Individuals may be required to do any or all of these situations throughout the work day, with an emphasis on walking and standing for a major portion of the day.
- The outside environment will comprise most of the day with some inside building activity.
