Summary
Ensure the shrub and tree areas of the yard have adequate inventory, customers are being assisted and the area is kept clean.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure customer engagement and satisfaction is our #1 priority.
- Provide and maintain appealing and orderly displays on the Nursery yard.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels of product and place orders for needed material as necessary including special orders.
- Ensure inventory availability lists and prices are up to date.
- Responsible for the maintenance of the display areas, (straightening, proper spacing, stocking and watering).
- Unload, receive and display all incoming stock in a timely manner using current receiving procedures, noting all defective/damaged merchandise and ensuring credit is received.
- Loads and assists loading any orders including delivery orders.
- Maintain accurate throwaway and markdown records for the back office.
- Maintain basic knowledge of plant materials within designated areas.
- Ensure accurate inventory levels by completing periodic cycle counts.
- Attend monthly mandatory store meeting.
- Accept other responsibilities as assigned.
Education, prior Work Experience and Specialized Skills and Knowledge
EDUCATION
and/or EXPERIENCE
- One plus year(s) work-related experience.
- GA State Certified within first two years of
job classification.
OTHER
SKILLS, ABILITIES, QUALIFICATIONS
- High level of interpersonal skills to handle
employees and customers with poise, tact and diplomacy.
- Computer skills:
- Point of Service Training
- Beginner level of skill in Outlook, Word and
Excel
- Ability to organize and prioritize work and
meet deadlines.
- Requires sitting and/or standing for long
periods of time.
- Requires lifting 50 lbs on regular basis and
up to 75 lbs on occasion.
- Must be forklift certified.
- Ability to multi-task.

Physical Environmental/Working Conditions
Requires extensive use of back, legs, knees, arms, feet and hands for lifting, stooping, squatting, bending, twisting, kneeling, pulling, pushing, reaching overhead, and walking. Unassisted lifting limits between 30 and 50 lbs. Individuals may be required to do any or all of these situations throughout the work day, with an emphasis on walking and standing for a major portion of the day. The outside environment will comprise most of the day with some inside building activity.
